Did you wake up today and have a song stuck in your head?  Maybe some AC/DC, Back in Black?  Sometimes it's nice to have a song playing over and over in our heads, especially a song that rocks like that.  The phenomenon known as an "earworm" can be nice at times.

But on the off chance that you want that stuck song OUT, there are some things you can do to help push it out, according to researchers who have studied the best ways to do it.

Basically, scientists say to get rid of an earworm, use your brain in a different way.  Focus on brain-bending puzzles, like crosswords, sodoku, and anagrams, but don't make the puzzles too hard or that will defeat the purpose.  Just a little letter-based distraction is all your mind needs to push "You Give Love a Bad Name" right out of your head.

The researchers found that Lady Gaga was the most common artist to get stuck, with Beyonce and The Beatles close behind.  Waterloo by Abba is another song that gets stuck in our heads quite frequently.  Any others?  Let us know.  And if a co-worker is walking up and down the hallway today singing a song that's annoying you, hand them a sodoku puzzle.
