One person died Monday in an accident on US 59 involving two 18-Wheelers and a school bus.

The road was still closed Tuesday morning because of the cleanup and investigation, and detours were set up.

The Lufkin School District says three children and the driver were the only ones on board the bus at the time, and none of them needed treatment for anything other than minor injuries.

The person who died will likely be identified later today.

State Police Monday said the accident happened on U.S. 59 near FM 843, and involved an 18-wheeler loaded with a hazardous chemical, an 18-wheeled chip hauler, and a school bus.  A Hazmat crew had to be called in to clean up the chemical spill, and that process continued late into the night Monday, after the accident Monday afternoon.
