The year is starting off just right for Van Halen fans who have anxiously been awaiting any word on the forthcoming new album that has kept the Internet buzzing with rumors for the past several weeks.

And things just got even better for VH vinyl aficionados, who were briefly left disappointed a few weeks back when David Lee Roth told fans, “Ohh, I don’t know if we’re going with vinyl…” when asked about a possible LP release of the band’s forthcoming ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ album. Turns out, they are going with vinyl after all.

Starting now, fans can pre-order Van Halen’s ‘A Different Kind of Truth: Exclusive Tour Collector’s Edition’ album on vinyl through Live Nation’s website. The double gatefold vinyl album includes two LPs that will contain all 13 songs. The album will also feature custom artwork.

‘A Different Kind of Truth’ is set for release on Feb. 7, 2012, but those who place pre-orders now will get a few extra perks in their package, including a deluxe MP3 version of the album on the day it hits stores.

The limited edition vinyl package also will include ‘The Downtown Sessions’ — four acoustic video performances of ‘Panama,’ ‘You and Your Blues (intro),’ ‘You and Your Blues’ and ‘Beautiful Girls.’ The bonus videos also will be received on the release date. This special offer is only available for those pre-orders placed within the United States or Canada.

The only downside to ordering the vinyl record? They will not be shipped until two weeks following the actual release of the album. The exclusive vinyl albums are slated to ship on or around Feb. 24, depending on the manufacturing schedule and the volume of orders placed.
