If you hit the pause button during the “Back To The Future” scene where Marty McFly, dressed in a spacesuit, wakes his sleeping father, you will notice the words “Edward Van Halen” on the audio cassette before being loaded into the “walkman“.

Now, 27 years after the short-lived DeLorean resurrection later (has it really been that long?), the elusive question on the minds of classic rockers has been answered.

TMZ is reporting it was indeed Eddie Van Halen’s finger pickin’ in that scene.  But, what song is that six, then four second guitar riff from?

NONE, according to Van Halen.  Further saying it’s “just a bunch of noise”.
