So many people across the nation celebrate July 4th in different ways. Some spent their time with family at the lake. Others traveled to firework shows. So what did you do?

It's not like there weren't any options for how to spend Independence Day.

I mean, let's face it. We're in East Texas. With that being said, it's ALWAYS acceptable to fire up a BBQ pit. Whether you actually smoke BBQ - ribs, brisket, chicken, etc. - or you fire up the pit for burgers and hot dogs, July 4th is always a good time for a cookout.

Or, if you wanted to stay inside and enjoy the AC, there's generally pretty good programming on TV for the 4th. I actually came across an "Independence Day" marathon on one channel. Yes, the 1996 movie featuring Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum Bill Pullman was playing back to back ALL DAY LONG. That's good stuff.

And then, of course, there were the fireworks shows. Whether you made your way out to Ellen Trout Zoo for the 12th Annual Mike Love and Associates fireworks show, or fired off your own in the front yard, fireworks just scream 'Merica.

Maybe you didn't spend July 4th doing any of these listed above. If you have a different tradition, or maybe you just decided to do something different THIS year, we want to hear from you. Sound off in the comments below.
