Actress Karen Black Loses Battle To Cancer, Co-Starred With Nicholson + Heston
Her birthing name was Karen Blanche Ziegler, but even her stage name - Karen Black - went hardly noticed.
She was an actress that portrayed many a part, mostly in films that I have never seen. Such as, the waitress girlfriend of Jack Nicholson, in "Five Easy Pieces" (1970), and "The Day of the Locust" (1975), and "Burnt Offerings" (1976).
I remember Karen Black as stewardess Nancy Pryor, who is forced to fly the jet in the 1974 airplane disaster movie, "Airport 1975", starring Charlton Heston and George Kennedy:
She had guest roles on television series as well, including "The Big Valley", "Run For Your Life", "Mannix", and "Adam-12".
Black died on August 8 from ampullary cancer. She was 74 years old.
