An Empty Lot is All That’s Left of Baby Dolls Club in Nacogdoches County
Lots of people wonder why there several liquor stores just inside Nacogdoches County, right on the Angelina River. For those of you that didn't know, Angelina County used to be a completely dry county, so people would come across the river to buy alcohol. If you didn't know that piece of Deep East Texas history, there's a good chance that you didn't know that there used to be an "adult entertainment club" right next door to the liquor stores. It's true.
Baby Dolls Club in Nacogdoches
For years, there was a club located at 10152 US-59 South, right at the Angelina River called Baby Dolls. According to the archived story from the Everything Nac website, it was shut down by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office in August of 2011 for "violating an order regarding the laws of Sexually Oriented Businesses." Along with the shutdown, all the employees were arrested and charged with "misdemeanor crime of operating the establishment without a license."

The reason that most people don't realize that Baby Dolls was a thing is because there is literally nothing left at that address today. After the shutdown in 2011, the building stood empty and abandoned for a couple of years before being demolished completely.

To give you an idea, this is what it looked like in 2013 via Google Maps:

Clearly, it was already falling into disrepair after being closed down. The building facade was falling down, the vines were taking over, and the lot itself wasn't being taken care of.

This is what it looks like today, just from a different angle:

Like I said before, there's nothing there, with the exception of an old, empty parking lot. You would never even know that a business once stood on that lot. The only reason I knew it existed was because I remember driving by it for years. It was closed down before I even moved to Nacogdoches. If I wasn't from here, I would've never known anything had been on that lot.
