Babymetal Announce New Album Release for Later This Year
Babymetal have revealed that their new album will be released in 2019, going by the latest posts on the kawaii metal act's social media pages. It will be their first without vocalist Yuimetal, who parted ways with the group last year, leaving lead singers Su-metal and Moametal the remaining Babymetal frontwomen.
The follow-up to 2016's Metal Resistance, the imminent release will be introduced with performances to mark the "new chapter" of Babymetal, as noted by Blabbermouth. Dubbed "The Sun Also Rises" and "Beyond the Moon," the "Babymetal Awakens" and "Babymetal Arises" events take place this summer.
For those keeping track, Babymetal have previously made announcements around April 1. Known as April Fools' Day colloquially, it's often put forth by the J-pop headbangers as "Fox Day," a term mentioned in Monday's announcement and earlier investigated by fans in this Reddit thread.
