Has there ever been a song more co-opted as an anthem than Bachman-Turner Overdrive‘s ‘Taking Care of Business?’ The track, which even had a 1990 Jim Belushi comedy bearing its name, has certainly done quite well for Randy Bachman and Fred Turner over the years, and it earned them another high profile gig this past weekend.

The duo makes a cameo appearance in the new Will Ferrell-Zach Galifianakis comedy ‘The Campaign.’ The track is featured early on in the film as you see Ferrell’s character, Cam Brady, on the campaign trail speaking to as many different constituent groups as possible, and you can just feel the campaign song urging the voters into action.

But Brady, who is running unopposed, is shocked to find that at the last minute, he’ll have to square off against oddball candidate Marty Huggins, played by Galifianakis.

As both candidates try to one-up each, they both pull out the stops to top the other, with Ferrell eventually getting to interact onscreen with the band responsible for his theme song in a rather bombastic way.

The comedy finished second over the weekend taking in an estimated $27 million at the box office, placing it behind the latest action thriller, ‘The Bourne Legacy.’
