Bad Wolves Guitarist Doc Coyle Reveals Eventual End to ‘Ex-Man’ Podcast
Bad Wolves guitarist Doc Coyle has announced the eventual end to his Jabberjaw Media podcast, The Ex-Man. He revealed the news on the show's latest episode, which features Nothing More frontman Jonny Hawkins. Coyle has also given an exclusive statement to Loudwire on his decision; he explained the idea behind the show's conception and why he feels it is now time to move on.
"I started The Ex Man Podcast as a way to find catharsis in grappling with a former life in my ex-band, God Forbid, to put the pieces together of a story still yet untold, re-connect with old friends, and hopefully pay some wisdom forward to other aspiring creatives," he said. "But as my career with Bad Wolves takes flight, I see that it doesn't serve me best to cast my identity as 'The Ex Man' when the healthiest way to live one's life is through the prism of the present."
"With that said, I would like to start planning the show with the end in mind," he continued. "But once my work is done, I will likely move on to another type of project in the podcasting field that better casts my identity in the present. I look forward to this journey." You can read his entire statement, as well as listen to the show's newest episode, below.
Per the show's description on Jabberjaw's website, The Ex-Man is depicted as Coyle speaking with "professionals in the music world and other creative industries about the challenges and transitions of leaving monumental ventures." It is currently on its 66th episode.
In other Bad Wolves news, the band just received a Platinum certification for their smash single, "Zombie," which is a cover of the Cranberries' 1994 song. It is the first rock song of 2018 to go Platinum.
"I started the Ex Man Podcast as a way to find catharsis in grappling with a former life in my ex-band, God Forbid, to put the pieces together of a story still yet untold, re-connect with old friends, and hopefully pay some wisdom forward to other aspiring creatives. It's one of the ventures I'm most proud of taking part in, and I am in love with the podcast as a creative and expressive medium. But as my career with Bad Wolves takes flight, I see that it doesn't serve me best to cast my identity as 'The Ex Man' when the healthiest way to live one's life is through the prism of the present. With that said, I would like to start planning the show with the end in mind. I have a list of guests I want to speak with to complete 'The Ex Man' story. This could take a while, so the show isn't going anywhere any time soon. But once my work is done, I will likely move on to another type of project in the podcasting field that better casts my identity in the present. I look forward to this journey."
