Billie Joe Armstrong, Dee Snider + More Rockers Respond to Mass Shootings
The United States has experienced roughly 250 mass shootings (four or more people shot) in 2019 alone. In response to the tragic violence in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, various musicians have offered their opinions on guns while sending their thoughts to those affected.
Guns have been a point of contention amongst Americans for decades. The U.S. has failed to solve the issue of mass shootings or make meaningful steps toward solving the issue. Some believe an assault weapons ban is the right course of action, while others advocate for a larger focus on mental health care or even more guns. As always, video games and metal music have been targeted, in part because the Ohio shooter was wearing an Acacia Strain sweatshirt.
Loudwire would like to send our deepest condolences to all those affected by the massacres in El Paso and Dayton.
