Blink-182's Travis Barker has spoken for the first time since being involved in an accident with a school bus this past Friday (July 13). "My car is totaled but I pretty much walked away okay," he told E! News. "Which is awesome. A school bus ran a red light. It was insane. I have a really big 4x4 G-Wagon and if I wasn't in that, it might have been different but it held up pretty well."

Barker was at the 2018 Beautycon event in Los Angeles with on Saturday, which was only one day after the incident. He was there with his 12-year-old daughter Alabama Luella and former stepdaughter Atiana de la Hoya.

TMZ broke the news on Friday, hours after it took place. "Law enforcement sources" told the site that the bus was not carrying anyone other than the driver, and Barker was not at fault for the incident. There were passengers in the drummer's car, including his son Landon, who shared a message on Instagram following the accident:

Life’s crazy...My dad, @carl.daw and I could have died today, our car was struck by school bus.. are car was Totaled thank god everyday because You never know if you’ll live to see tomorrow

Aside from this accident, Barker is also dealing with blood clots in his arms that have forced him to take a respite from drumming. Blink revealed the news in a statement saying he was being "closely monitored" and that they cannot perform until he is cleared by his medical team.

TMZ reported soon thereafter that Barker had been re-admitted to a Los Angelas-area hospital with a staph infection and cellulitis, which is a type of skin infection. At that time, doctors were reportedly seeing how his body responded to blood thinners, hoping that the clots didn't make their way to his heart or lungs.

Earlier this week a video was released updated fans on Barker's current state. In the clip, footage of the drummer playing with Blink gives way to a meeting with his doctor. His doctor reveals that he had the "trifecta" of infection, inflammation in his arms and superficial bloodclots. Barker was given a "week-by-week" approach, but his physician said he felt he'll be back soon.

He also offered a comment to E! News on his current state, saying, "I am recovering, I have blood clots," Barker told E! News. "I have, I think, like 30 in my right hand in arm and I have about 10 in my left so I'm just waiting for them to clear up. I'm on blood thinners."
