These days we might look off to the side of I-20 and see cows and horses, but Texas wildlife managers say dinosaurs used to roam those same pastures. And some of them were huge!

When Texas crews are building roads, you have to wonder what odd things they come across while they're moving dirt. The latest discovery was way more than earthworms and compacted beer cans. This was an ancient Indian artifact that some say had a tremendous value for the culture in 900 A.D.

My dad is a US Navy veteran, and he's committed to flying the US flag several days each year.  He hits the obvious ones like Memorial Day and the 4th of July, but the most important day to him might be June 14th.

There's already a memorial in this Texas town dedicated to the man that the movie, American Sniper, was based on.  And now Texas lawmakers are considering a bill that would name part of a highway after Chris Kyle.

The name Big Red implies that it's straight out of Nebraska, right?  At least to us Husker alums who view all things though the football lens. Big Red soda is actually bottled in Texas, by the Dr. Pepper folks, and it was first born here in 1937. Did you know it used to be called "Sun Tang Big Red Cream Soda?"

At first glance it might look like a 10 foot by 9 foot patch of grass.  But the history behind it makes this obscure Texas landmark significant, and if you want to take a pic at that spot, it's not too far from Lufkin.

Each year on February 2nd we have to sit around and wait on Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania to know whether we're going to have more winter, or if spring will come early.  Texas has apparently had enough of that nonsense, and that's why we're answering with Bee Cave Bob, the Armadillo.

If my dad gets a free hour, we can usually find him digging around on Ancestry.com. He loves it, and he's made some interesting discoveries along the way. Pop is Navy Veteran that served in Vietnam, and he's learned that the other veterans in our family served in the Civil and Revolutionary Wars.  I bet you've got these veterans in your family too.

We carry around a secret inner desire to be Flo from Progressive all year long, and finally at Halloween we let her out!  Is that it? The kids might have questions about Halloween, so I did some research to prep us.

Lufkin (VFW) Memorial Post 1836 is planning a community U.S. Flag retirement ceremony, and now is your opportunity to retire that old flag the right way.

It was more than enough to prompt years of comeback rumors.

With the biggest record of their career behind them, the band seemed poised to scale even greater heights.
