Andrew Touchette is Our Latest Community Rockstar

We're right around the corner from the beginning of the school year, and it just so happens that this week's Community Rockstar is in the education field!

Andrew Touchette is Our Latest Deep East Texas Community Rockstar

Andrew Touchette has been selected as this week's Community Rockstar! He currently works in the CTE department of Nacogdoches High School, but according to the nomination that we received, he's had several years of watching out for Deep East Texas students - 15 years actually. He has been a teacher in Alto, Chester and Henderson, and now he's in Nacogdoches.

Specifically, he's a robotics teacher in the CTE department of Nacogdoches ISD. He works with students, teaching them programming and problem-solving with the robots, and he even takes students to competitions.

But he does even more technical work for the school district outside of his regular classroom, specifically for the athletics department. He works with the audio/visual side of things for football games, teaching students how to operate cameras on the field.

In my book, educators that go above and beyond for their students are absolute heroes. And Andrew Touchette is doing just that - that's why he is this week's Deep East Texas Community Rockstar!
