Reverend Walker McWilliams is a Senior Pastor AND Community Rockstar

Here we are, at Friday once again. And that means that it's time to reveal another Community Rockstar! This week's rockstar is doing awesome things not only for his church, but for the community as a whole.

Reverend Walker McWilliams is the Newest Deep East Texas Community Rockstar

This week's Deep East Texas Community Rockstar is Reverend Walker McWilliams. He is the senior pastor at First Baptist Church Lufkin, and he's doing awesome things throughout the community!

According to the nomination that was received, Rev. McWilliams "leads the congregation in many various ways of ministering to our community," including a partnership with Slack Elementary, in order to "support students and staff there by volunteering to greet students, provide luncheon celebrations and even freshen up their campus with painting, clean up and any tasks that need to be done."

He also heads up other ministry projects including Second Sacks, Buckner Family Place and "Love Lufkin", where the "congregation gathers to do tasks and 'freshen up' jobs in the city of Lufkin."

The nomination wrapped up with this: "We love Pastor Walker - he's our true Rockstar!" And now, he's the newest title holder of Deep East Texas Community Rockstar. Congratulations Reverend Walker McWilliams!

Like our other rockstars, Reverend McWilliams will be receiving a framed certificate from Q107 and Zion Auto Glass, along with a gift certificate to Lone Star Charlie's in Lufkin. If you know someone that's doing great things for Deep East Texas like he is, you can nominate them at the link below:
