There are fans and then there are super fans. San Antonio couple John Paul and Crystal Dennison would appear to fall into the latter category, as the new parents have named their identical, newborn twin sons Tony Parker and Tim Duncan after the San Antonio Spurs’ superstars.

It turns out, they are not fanatical in their devotion to the NBA, the Spurs or the players themselves. They’re reserving that type of dedication for the man upstairs. They just named the boys after the point guard and the power forward because they are convinced of some sort of divine intervention. Poor kids.

The couple actually met while working at an eatery in the AT&T Center where the Spurs play. They also feel their union was an example of the Lord working mysteriously through the team, with Paul telling KENS-TV, “We know that the Lord brought us together, but he used the Spurs to do it. It kind of started off as a joke. We said it at lunch one day and everybody laughed.”

We chuckled, too. But the joke didn’t end there.

Paul continued, “And then we got to thinking that we really actually liked the names a whole lot. They’re really cool names.”

Second runner-up for names was Loaded Nachos and Pretzel No Salt.
