Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess has revealed a new album from the prog legends will drop in February 2019. During a new interview, Rudess spoke about the record and the “very strong energy” between Dream Theater bandmates.

It’s been almost three years since Dream Theater released their last offering, The Astonishing. The double album ran for well over two hours, painting a futuristic concept around science fiction and the power of music. Though Rudess didn’t spill any info about the new album’s content, he did confirm a February 2019 release date.

“My next solo album will come out in April. It’s not a piano album at all, it’s a rock album. The new Dream Theater album is coming out in late February,” Rudess tells Metal Wani. "Right now, we're mixing it. It's being mixed as we speak. It sounds awesome. I'm so excited about it. There's a very, very strong energy around the band these days. We all feel very connected and excited about what's coming. We can't wait to unleash the whole thing on everybody. And that's all gonna happen really, really soon as well; it's just right around the corner."

Rudess is currently prepping for his Bach to Rock tour, which will hit Asia, Australia and Rhode Island this year. Stay tuned for more info on Dram Theater’s 14th studio album as details continue to emerge.
