Bo and Luke would be proud, but police aren't amused. An Allen Park man has been arrested after jumping his vehicle over a rising drawbridge on Detroit's west side. It could have been a scene straight out of the 'Dukes of Hazard.'

I searched high and low, but there doesn't (at this time) appear to be any surveillance video of the incident which occurred Wednesday (9/16) evening around 7 pm.

The best part of the video below is the reaction from the Fort Street Bridge operator, Andre Locke:

"And I looked, I said, ‘No he ain’t,’” Locke told WDIV. “Over he went, blew out all four of his tires, and then he crashed into the other gate.”

While the officer calling in the incident over the police radio called it a 'Dukes of Hazard' style jump, Locked likened it more to 'The Blues Brothers.'

Authorities say the 26-year-old man was high on "whippits," the gas used to pressurize cans of whipped cream.

He damaged one of the bridge's safety gates as well as all four tires on his car. He faces charges of malicious destruction of property over $1,000.
