Fishbone’s Classic Lineup Reunites, Announces Tour Dates
Fishbone fans who catch the band on the road this year are in for a treat — namely, the return of enough former members to bring about the revival of the group's classic lineup.
The band spread the news to Facebook followers in early February, announcing the new/old lineup with a post reading, "Fishbone is back to all original members minus Kendall Jones. In the last year, drummer Fish and guitarist John Bigham returned and this month vocalist/keyboardist and trombone player Chris Dowd is now back. This is the best news of 2018!" They've since set about adding a series of tour dates to their 2018 calendar, starting with a trio of late April shows and continuing through late August. You can look over the complete list of currently scheduled concerts below.
Fishbone's 2018 tour adds a redemptive note to a long career that's occasionally seemed to be on the verge of mainstream success, but has often been hampered by bad timing and worse luck. "It's absolutely unreal, at this stage of the game, to be reunited as brothers and bandmates," founding bassist Norwood Fisher told Broadway World. "The band feels as if it's almost firing better than ever. We're all equally excited to get on the grind and bring this energy to the stage for those that have supported us throughout our career, the Whirl'd Wide Familyhood."
"I just want to say thank you to all the Fishbone Soldiers for donating their hearts and souls for the preservation of our band's legacy in an OG Fishbone classic manifestation," added frontman Angelo Moore. "For me and for you."
