On Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 there will be a free drive-thru produce distribution in Lufkin. There is always a need for fresh items made readily available in our area.

The East Texas Food Bank will be set up at the George H. Henderson Exposition Center from 10 am - 12 pm. This event will give free produce and fresh items, pending availability, on a first come first serve basis.

This is a drive-thru event and walk-ups will not be accepted. These quick two-hour events are a big help to those in need in our community.

What Do I Need To Get Free Food In Lufkin

The produce distribution is open to everyone and anyone and has no paperwork or eligibility requirements. Multiple households are encouraged to carpool, and you can even pick up produce for someone not able to attend.

Friends or family members can pick up the produce for you. They will need a note that includes your name, signature, and a statement that they are able to pick up food for you.

No single car can have more than three of these notes. That means a maximum of four families can be served per vehicle.

Lack of funds leads to hunger very quickly

The East Texas Food Bank is here to serve those who are experiencing a need for fresh produce. If you know someone that could use this service share this information with them. Remember that you could even offer to pick up the food for them.

If you would like to help them with these food distributions they are always welcoming to new volunteers. CLICK HERE. They are also a great place to do any kind of community service whether it is state-mandated or not.

If you are planning on attending they are asking that you enter the Expo Center via Highway 69 Westbound. After you get your produce just exit onto Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
