The Salvation Animal Rescue is all about making Angelina County a better place for people and animals. They started this mission by becoming a non-profit organization in 2016. They are taking action to lower the number of animals we euthanize by providing a low-cost spay/neuter program.

They call this program S.N.I.P.S. It's an acronym for - spay neuter is a pawsitive solution. It speaks to exactly what they are doing for our community and all our feline and canine housemates. They started this in 2018, and the program continues with another event coming up this month.

Anyone that lives in Angelina County can purchase a voucher, Monday, June 29th from 6-9pm. They just cost $25 and are good for a spay or neuter from the Angelina Animal Hospital. Salvation Animal Rescue will be positioned in the same shopping center as Petsmart, but closer to the new James Avery. They are sold to anyone regardless of income.

When you stop by to purchase your voucher please practice Covid guidelines. There are limits, and additional restrictions, but for anyone that is actually in need of these services, they shouldn't be an issue.

The Salvation Animal Rescue also has vaccination and microchip clinics twice a year. They have also started a Doug's Hugs Food Pantry. They work with Meal's on Wheels to provide seniors with pets much needed assistance to feed them as well. If that is something that you would be interested in, just take a look at their facebook page for more details.
