Help Others With Service Saturday – January 11th

Start out the new year with a clean sweep. Do you love helping out in your community? Check it off your New Years resoultion list with Angelina Beautiful Clean and other local service organizations. It's going down this Saturday in Lufkin. You can help out with an Adopt-A-Highway cleanup or help upcycle greeting cards for veterans with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #133.

Meet at the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce to pick up the service activity you wish to participate in and get supplies and breakfast at 8am. The event continues till 11am and lunch is provided too. So you won't even have to write off an entire Saturday to help them out.

So it's your choice. Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup, Greeting Card Re-purpose Crafts or Up-cycle plastic bags into mats and pillows for the homeless . No matter which one you chose you will be helping your community. It really feels good to get out and accomplish something with your fellow citizens. You could recruit then entire family or task your entire company for a team building exercise.

Step up and help, take ownership of your community with ABC. Put on your working hat and be prepared for whatever may come. The weather looks like it will cooperate, but make sure and wear something to keep you dry and warm.
