$1 MILLION LOST! – A Winning Texas Ticket is About to Expire

Back in mid-July someone walked into this Big Shot convenience store on Bissonnet Street in Houston and purchased a quick-pick lottery ticket for the Powerball jackpot.

That ticket ended up being a winner of $1 million! It matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (7-10-11-13-24), but not the red Powerball number (24).

It's called winning a 'second-tier' prize. Call it what you want, it still means somebody is a new millionaire...

...Or Does It?

Whoever has that ticket has yet to claim their prize. Lottery rules state that a ticket holder forfeits any claim to a prize for a draw game after the expiration of the 180th day following the draw date. Unclaimed prizes revert to the state for programs authorized by the Texas Legislature.

That 180th day will be Monday, January 15. However, that's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the Texas Lottery offices will be closed. So, whoever has that $1 million ticket has until Friday, July 12 at 5 p.m. to claim their cash.

Where is That Ticket?

It may be in a drawer at someone's house, or perhaps in a compartment inside a vehicle. Let's hope someone didn't trash it all those months ago.
