New Class of Nurses Enters Profession from Angelina College

Angelina College’s Nursing Program recognized 59 new nurses entering their chosen professions with a traditional pinning ceremony held Thursday, May 8, inside AC’s Shands Gymnasium.

Dr. Winifred Ferguson Adams, Dean of the School of Health Careers at Angelina College, also announced those students receiving special recognition. Those included Nina Martinez Potter (Highest GPA), Emmery Copertino (Most Outstanding Clinicals Student) and Rosalynn Wesley (Overall Most Outstanding Student).

As Peggy Mortensen announced their names, the new grads received their traditional pins from friends, family members or AC staff members before Nancy McClurg led the recital of the “Nightingale Pledge.”
