In the past seven days, the Powerball and Mega Millions games have produced four new Texas millionaires. The most recent big winner from Texas happened last night (1/2/2024) with the latest Mega Millions drawing.

...and purchased a Quick Pick that ended up matching all five non-Mega Ball numbers. That's a million-dollar ticket. But, the lucky person added a buck to 'Mega-ply' the ticket which doubled their winnings to $2 million.

Last night's winning numbers were 3-18-27-29-64, with a Mega Ball of 1.

No one matched all six numbers for last night's drawing, so that means the new Mega Millions jackpot will now be worth $140 million. That drawing will take place on Friday, January 5.

The next Powerball drawing will happen tonight with a jackpot of $20 million.

Texas Millionaires

This string of Texas winners started on December 27th with a $2 million Powerball winner in Katy, Texas.  Then, on December 30th, someone just up the road in Tomball matched five numbers to win $2 million.

On New Year's Day, someone in Michigan claimed the $812 million Powerball jackpot, but a Laredo-area resident also struck it big with a $2 million payout.

Let's not forget the Lotto Texas jackpot from December 30th. Someone walked into an HEB in Austin and bought a ticket that ended up matching all six numbers for a $34 million jackpot!

So, yes, Texas Lottery players are on quite a roll, but remember to play responsibly. The odds of winning the big payout for Powerball or Mega Millions is somewhere around 1 in 292,000,000.
