Texarkana earned its star specifically in the Traditional Finances category, which focuses on budgets, expenditures, and overall fiscal reporting.

City officials say the recognition reflects ongoing efforts to maintain accountability and trust with taxpayers. Chief Financial Officer Kristin Peeples said the award underscores the Finance Department’s dedication to transparency and responsible management of public funds.
