Walmart Approved to Start Drone Delivery Next Week in N. Texas
According to a recent report, the delivery of the future is upon us! At least 2 North Texas Walmarts in North Richland Hills. The two locations offering the service will be the two Walmart Supercenter locations – 6401 NE Loop 820 and 9101 North Tarrant Parkway. Wfaa reports that the drones can carry up to 2.3 pounds, "designed for over-the-counter meds, movie-night snacks or the ingredient you realize you’re missing at the last minute," a Walmart press release said.
Operating hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, and the new delivery service will be available to anyone within four miles of either store, including customers in neighboring cities. The pilot program will last one year! Wing will provide the service, Wing, a subsidiary of Google's parent company Alphabet. For more information, visit Wings’ website.
