Dallas City Councilwoman Gay Donnell Willis started getting calls about the home from her constituents. When it was all over, she asked DPD for an itemized report of the expenses incurred.

The total bill was over $25,000, not including off-duty police officers paid for by the neighborhood or the homeowner. It even included $622.50 for its use of a police helicopter.

Willis went on to say that the family complied with all of the light and noise codes. You can tell that the display changed as it got more popular.

 

She is going to work to make changes to the city code to make sure this doesn't happen again.
