Felony Arrests In Angelina County June 23 – 29
If you see this man, do not go near him. He is a convicted sex offender in the community, and he continues not to follow the instructions set out by authorities.
He was arrested in 2023 on a charge of luring 13-year-olds into inappropriate conduct. According to the Lufkin Daily News in 2023, he was charged with online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.
Now, since he has to register as a sex offender, we would assume that he was convicted on those charges. McClendon's arrest and later conviction was the result of a months-long investigation that began when LPD Officer Zane Anthony contacted the defendant and his mother around 3:40 p.m.
Lufkin Man's Own Mother Turned Him In
She was concerned that her son was seeing juvenile girls. Based on the information gathered through that conversation, he was found to have used Facebook Messenger to lure a 13-year-old girl to meet him in person for sexual contact.
A witness provided additional information leading to an accusation of a second 13-year-old female. She and McClendon were found in a laundry room where it appeared he and the girl had sex.
McClendon admitted to sexual conduct with Jane Doe #2. The now 20-year-old Antowine McClendon is back behind bars for not complying with his sex offender status rules.
