This Long Lost Pizza Chain Is Open Again In Lufkin
Though it has been gone for years, Mr. Gatti's Pizza is now finally back in Lufkin. They are open in the spot formerly taken by McDonald's at Walmart in Lufkin.
We originally found out they were coming back in July, and now they are already open and serving customers. Since the spot was already a restaurant, it didn't take that long to be up and running.
Today was the first day that they were officially open. Walmart Lufkin posted a photo of the new restaurant and the four-member staff on Facebook.
No Games, No Full Seating Area, Just Gatti's Pizza
After shopping for groceries for an hour, the thought of going home and starting another chore like cooking always sounds horrible. Now you can finish your shopping and stop in and pick up a fresh pizza pie.
According to the Lufkin Daily News, this is the first of 12 new locations for Mr.Gatti's.
“The grand opening of these initial locations is a milestone for Mr Gatti’s as we launch our partnership with Walmart,” said Jim Phillips, CEO of Mr Gatti’s Pizza. “By bringing our restaurants into Walmart, we’re making it easier for families to enjoy our pizza — whether they’re shopping, picking it up to-go or having it delivered. This first location sets the standard for what customers can expect as we expand in the coming months.”
You can place your order in advance of your next shopping trip with their app or website. I tried it and it is all up and working as it should be.
