A recent study revealed the most popular Super Bowl snacks in each state, and I guess I’m a bit of an oddball. I honestly can’t remember ever snacking on the two most popular foods here in Texas (during the Super Bowl, anyway).

Now, I’m a huge football fan. In fact, I would go as far as to say I’m obsessed with the game. I’m also a total foodie, so Super Bowl Sunday is perfect for me, especially if I don’t have a rooting interest. Of course, as a Cowboy fan, that hasn’t been an issue in quite some time. So yeah, it’s been three decades since I’ve stress-watched the Super Bowl. I just enjoy the game, pig out, and have some drinks.

And that’s the thing about it – you don’t have to care the least bit about football to love Super Bowl Sunday. It’s just as much about good food and having a good time with friends as it is football. Unless we’re going out to a Super Bowl party, my wife typically takes the lead on what we will be grubbing on during the big game.

Our go-to snacks for the Super Bowl are almost always Buffalo Wings, chips, and dips. As total creatures of habit, we rarely stray from that. But I must say I’m a big fan of quesadillas and popcorn, the two most popular Super Bowl snacks here in the Lone Star State, according to the website Coffeeness. So, maybe it’s time for us to branch out a bit.
