Someone in Texas Could Lose a $1 Million Lottery Jackpot This Weekend
There’s a very real possibility that someone in Texas will lose out on a chance to claim a $1 million prize. Just typing that sentence made me want to cry. I figure most folks who play the lottery are anything but wealthy and could really use a life-changing sum of money.
It was about a month ago when I reported that the Texas Lottery sent a press release alerting the public to the fact that a $1 million Powerball jackpot from the February 2 drawing remained unclaimed. At that point, the winner still had a month to claim it. It remains unclaimed, according to a July 27 press release.

Of course, the clock is quickly ticking and time is running out. The winning ticket is set to expire this Saturday, August 1. This means the winner must have their ticket validated by 5 pm local time this Friday, July 31, at a Texas Lottery claim center. Learn how and where to claim your prize at this location.
The winner can also claim their prize by mail, as long as it’s postmarked on or before August 1. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend claiming your prize that way unless you have no other choice. If so, mail the ticket and the claim form to this address:

The winning ticket was sold at Circle K #2704686, located at 6107 W. Parmer Lane, in Austin. The ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers: 3-8-31-60-65, but not the red Powerball number, which was 4.
