Popular Tex-Mex Chain Files Bankruptcy- Texas Locations Affected?
The past few years haven't been kind to corporate retailers or restaurants. It seems every other day we hear reports of restaurants that are either downsizing, restructuring, or outright closing locations. National chains like Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Denny's have all recently announced closings to locations across the country.
Now you can add another popular Tex-Mex chain that has filed for bankruptcy protection. With 60 locations in the US and internationally, On the Border has now filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
On the Border Closed in Shreveport Years Ago
Shreveport used to have an On the Border location on Youree Drive before closing it back in 2008. (Has it been that long ago?) They also closed the Greenwood Rd. location. On the Border parent company, OTB Holdings has already closed 40 locations before filing for bankruptcy, with more closings expected.
Where's the Nearest On the Border Location to Shreveport?
On the Border currently has locations listed on their website in Texas, with the nearest to the Shreveport-Bossier market in Longview and Tyler, and several in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market. Other locations in Texas include:

Currently, OTB Holdings hasn't listed what locations might be "under-performing," so we won't know which ones will be next on the chopping block. But if you're a fan of their chips and salsa and are heading to east Texas anytime soon, you might want to make a stop at a location and enjoy it before it's gone.
