Severe Weather Possible Today In East Texas
(East Texas) East Texas will need to remain weather-aware for another couple of days.
A stalled stationary front has been the catalyst for our unsettled weather pattern for the past few days.
A major spring cold front is expected to move through East Texas Saturday afternoon and evening and clear things out for us. Until that happens we need to remain weather aware.

Severe weather is still a potential for East Texas through Saturday
The severe weather potential has been raised to a moderate risk for the northeastern portion of East Texas and an enhanced risk for the rest of us by the Storm Prediction Center for Friday and then the moderate risk shifts to the east on Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, the highest risk for severe storms will be along and north of the I-20 with the potential of very large hail of 2 inches or greater.
Timing of Friday's storms
The highest risk for a severe weather outbreak this afternoon will come with the heating of the day. Storms could form a line and move into the East Texas area most likely after lunch and continue to move east through East Texas.
Rain chances will reset and continue into Saturday, again, with potentially heavy downpours that could cause flash flooding issues throughout East Texas. Remember, if you're on the road and encounter a flooded roadway, TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
