Texas Woman Finds Strange Lock on Public Restroom in College Station, Texas

Let's face it when you have to go you have to go and luckily there is a convenience store or gas station on every corner in Texas.  Some are immaculately lit, clean, and safe, while others are creepy and sketchy.

A Woman Finds a Weird Lock on a Woman's Restroom at a Gas Station in College Station, Texas

A woman recently took to TikTok to share something she noticed at a gas station in College Station, Texas.  She said she and her friend had to stop and she needed to go to the restroom.  She entered the women's restroom and heard a weird noise and luckily she grabbed the door before it shut.  She noticed that at the top of the outside of the door was a weird lock that could be controlled away from the door.  However, it locked the door from the outside of the bathroom.

This creeped her out so much that she grabbed her friend to stand watch so she could use the bathroom, and not have any fear of being locked inside.  After using the restroom, she took a video of the lock and made a note that the women's restroom was the only door that had this strange lock.  She also said the cashiers began getting upset that they were making a video. She made note that the cashiers were acting sketchy, giving her the "I'm watching you" hand gestures.

Why Would a Women's Restroom Have a Lock on It that Only Operated from the Outside?

This seems sketchy right, that would make any woman feel unsafe, especially those traveling alone.  With the rate of human trafficking these days, this raises eyebrows.

Personally, I would have turned around and walked out calmly and driven away, I don't care if I had to go to the bathroom.

The girl ended up calling the police.  However, as strange as it was, the police couldn't do anything about it.  After thousands of people saw this video, apparently a call was made to the fire marshal's office and they came in and forced the owner to remove the lock because it was a fire hazard.

Why Was this Lock Only on the Women's Restroom Door?

According to another video, the owner of the gas station said that patrons would come in daily and destroy the women's bathroom.  However, that doesn't quite sit right because again, it locks from the outside.  All they would have to do is reach up and unlock it.

This is just another reason to remain alert, and vigilant when you are out and about anywhere.  Always be aware of your surroundings and always make sure loved ones know where you are and where you are going.  I wonder how many women have been locked inside that restroom?
