It’s exactly what it sounds like: a frozen margarita that comes out of a machine with the smooth texture of soft-serve ice cream. And now, it’s catching the attention of foodies across the country, including here in Texas!

Now, a Houston restaurant may be getting ready to bring the trend to the Lone Star State.

A Houston Restaurant Bringing Soft-Serve Margaritas to Texas

The drink first gained attention thanks to social media (of course) where several restaurants have showed off the viral sensation; it’s served in a swirl similar to soft-serve ice cream.

The unique texture has quickly captured attention of people across the country trying to track down where they can try one.

In Texas, several Houston-area restaurants have been mentioned as possible places experimenting with the idea but one spot in particular, Doña Leti’s, teased the concept in a video showing a colorful soft-serve mixture being dispensed into a cone.

The restaurant claims it could become the first to bring us this cool treat.

Other locations around the area, including VooDoo Hut in Kemah and Alma Mexican Fajitas and Ritas in the Heights, have also been mentioned by curious margarita fans online.

For now, the drink is still more of a viral curiosity than a widespread menu item, but that hasn’t stopped people from talking about it.
