Texas Airbnb Love Fest Ends With Police Response
Every year, Valentine’s Day gives us the same two options: romantic dinner or emotional damage.
But in Texas this year, someone apparently chose a third option: rent an Airbnb and throw a Valentine’s party that would make the best episode of Live: PD.
What started as a singles Valentine’s gathering in Harrison County somehow turned into a massive house party that ended with deputies, a hospital visit, and a suspended Airbnb account.
East Texas Valentine’s Gathering Draws Law Enforcement
According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were first called after reports of a Ford truck driving recklessly away from a Valentine’s party at an Airbnb on Finklea Road.
When a deputy arrived, they found a crowd of roughly 250 to 300 people gathered on the property, reportedly engaged in “adult activities.” What those adult activities were, they did not say, but the deputy’s presence prompted the group to quickly disperse.

Authorities say the home had been rented by a relative who was not present at the party. The property owners were notified and when they arrived on scene, obviously horrified, demanded that the remaining guests leave. Deputies helped clear the property without further incident.
But that wasn’t the end of the night!
In a related incident, a deputy responded to a local hospital where a man reported being assaulted at the same party. The complainant told deputies he was struck in the back of the head and then allegedly attacked by two men, resulting in injuries. Friends transported him to the hospital, and an assault investigation is now underway.
Airbnb Issues Statement on Texas Valentine’s Incident
Airbnb has since released a statement addressing the incident:
Unauthorized and disruptive parties are banned on Airbnb, and this type of behavior has no place on our platform. We’ve suspended the account of the guest who booked this reservation as we investigate, and we’re in contact with our host to support them.
Airbnb also noted that reservation screening systems are in place across Texas and the United States to help prevent high-risk bookings, especially during times of year known for large gatherings.
Authorities are reminding residents to consider the safety and legal risks of hosting large gatherings.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t require a crowd, a rented house, and a traffic situation visible from space. Next year? Maybe just stay home, order some takeout and argue about what to watch like normal people!
