If you are looking for a way to properly dispose of old unwanted tires in the Nacogdoches area, here you go. This is the first tire recycling event for KNB (Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful) ever.

Its going on with the help of Cook Tire, and the city of Nacogdoches. They are putting on the event in hopes of cutting down on illegal dumping of tires in all of Nacogdoches County.

The best part of it is there is no charge to dispose of these old tires the right way. It's going to be fast too. They will have it set up like a drive-thru and you will be in and out. Saturday, May 15 - 2021.

They are pretty generous on what will be accepted. They are taking 19 inch tires and smaller only. You can bring up to 4 tires per household.

They will not be accepting any tires over 19 inches, off-road tires, or tires from businesses. Stick to the rules so KNB can continue to do this for free for the community.

The best part of the tire recycling is that they are going to be repurposed. Used tires can be made into a bunch of different things. Playground mulch to break a kids fall. The tire you recycle could turn into a running track. They also make great welcome mats.

Next time you see a tire swing or planter, that just might be your tire.  Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful partners with the City of Nacogdoches in an effort to do just what the name implies, Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful. Do your part and help out.
