STORY UPDATE: Both suspects involved in the unlawful use of a motor vehicle are now in custody after an officer spotted them in a tree line roughly 300 yards from where they fled on foot from their tow truck.  Law enforcement would thank the public for their assistance in the matter.

Lufkin Police and other law enforcement are in Burke in the 100 block of Pinery Road where two white males abandoned a tow truck after getting into a pursuit with Lufkin Police officers. The two men fled on foot.  Law enforcement officials have established a perimeter in the area to locate the suspects.

Anyone living or traveling in the Burke area around Old Diboll Highway are asked to be on the lookout for the suspects.  Do not approach or try to apprehend the suspects.  Call police or dial 9-1-1 if you spot the suspects.

The men hooked up a pickup truck that was for sale in the old Kmart parking lot when the owner of the pickup noticed their suspicious behavior. The men realized they had been caught and dropped the truck. The owner of the pickup then began chasing them and called for police assistance.
