Watch Lemmy in New ‘Sunset Society’ Movie Clip
Lemmy Kilmister filmed scenes for an upcoming movie called Sunset Society more than two years ago. He died in December 2015, and the film is now inching closer to a release date.
You can see a preview of the upcoming horror movie in the above four-minute music video for Jyrki 69's "Bloodlust," which includes scenes from the film. The late Motorhead frontman appears in the first few seconds, looking quite at home in a bar nursing a drink.
The movie is about Sunset Strip vampires, and it doesn't take long for Lemmy to sink his teeth into a helpless woman. The video, and movie, also features appearances by L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns, porn star Ron Jeremy and Guns N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed.
Director Phoebe Dollar's movie is set to open in spring 2018. The video by Jyrki 69, who fronts the band 69 Eyes, features some of the first scenes unveiled from the film. "The Lost Boys movie taken into modern day to the Sunset Strip," is how Jyrki described the movie to Rolling Stone.
"Aren't we all so glad to see that Lemmy's doing all right? He lives forever!" he said. "Mötorhead has naturally always been more than just inspiration musically – it's a whole lifestyle which Lemmy symbolizes," he said. "Life suddenly has become harder without a new Mötorhead album or tour behind the corner. I met the man over decades many times all over the world. Never bothered him at the Rainbow Bar & Grill! ... I'm proud to have the General still onboard! I actually showed the video to Ron Jeremy at the Rainbow Bar & Grill, and he loved it!"
There will be more Lemmy to look forward to in the coming months, in addition to his role in Sunset Society. His first solo album is due by the end of the year. He started work on it years ago and worked on it sporadically over the last decade of his life. No release date has been scheduled, but one of his collaborators said it should be ready for release "toward the end of this year."
