Lufkin Firefighter Entrance Exam Set for September

Being a firefighter was never on my list of dreams when I was growing up. I've got nothing against them. In fact, I'm a huge fan of firemen. It just wasn't something that I saw myself doing and still don't. But that's a job that we NEED people to do, most definitely. Well, it looks like Lufkin is getting ready to add more of those interested, needed people to its ranks.

City of Lufkin to Administer Entrance Exam for Firefighters

According to the City of Lufkin, Texas Facebook page, they are preparing to administer their next Civil Service Firefighter entrance exam in just a couple of months. The exam will take place on Thursday, September 24th at 9:00 AM at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center.

Prior to the test, people interested must register online on the City of Lufkin website - https://cityoflufkin.applicantpro.com/jobs/. I've already gone and checked, so I can say with certainty that the registration page is active, and it will be that way until Thursday, September 17th, one week before the actual exam takes place.

Important Notices for Exam Applicants

There is an age limit to the exam. Anyone that is applying has to be at least 18 years old, but no older than 35 - specifically, they can't have reached their 36th birthday before taking the exam, if you want to get technical.

Also, they have to be on time to take the exam. According to the same post I referenced earlier, no late arrivals will be allowed in to take the exam. When they say 9:00 AM, they mean it. They need to have a valid driver's license in hand that morning as well.

So, if your dreaming of becoming a firefighter, Lufkin Fire Department is making that happen, and it all starts September 24th.
