Thursday afternoon, Lufkin Police and other emergency responders were called to a one-vehicle accident that took place on the west loop in Lufkin, near Lockheed Martin.  The wreck resulted in the injuries of the woman driving as well as three children who were traveling in that SUV.  Three of the four occupants were ejected from that vehicle as the SUV rolled over multiple times.

Lufkin Police have now updated the story.

The woman and children involved in yesterday’s accident are Kimberly Green, 30, Mario Loyde, 8, Chasnee Green, 1, and Rimeerah Green, 5, all of Lufkin, though the children told officers they were originally from Florida.

Loyde and Chasnee Green were treated and released from local hospitals while Kimberly Green and Rimeerah Green were flown to out-of-town hospitals for additional treatment. An update on their conditions was not immediately available Friday.

Here is additional information from the officer’s crash report narrative, as provided by the Lufkin Police Department

The vehicle in the crash (Unit #1) was traveling southbound in the 1000 block of N. John Redditt drive before it ran off to the right side of the road. According to the physical evidence at the crash site, # 1 left approximately 132 feet of tire tracks in the grass, with its front right and rear right tires, before getting back onto the shoulder where it rotated approximately 90 degrees counterclockwise which caused it to leave approximately 75 feet of yaw marks before it left the road again.

The vehicle left the road, rotating counterclockwise, for the second time, traveling southwest for approximately 33 feet on the grass before it turned over on its left side for approximately 45 feet.

After traveling that distance, the vehicle's top struck a five-foot wooden pole and metal livestock fence panel that redirected the direction of travel of the SUV. The wooden pole redirected the vehicle to travel west for approximately 60 feet (while still turning over) before it came to rest upright.

The driver told investigators that she had been having car problems and believes that was the reason why she left the road.
