The Lufkin Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing man who suffers from mental health issues.

Javion Jones, 22, of Lufkin was reported missing by his mother Monday night (3/14). She told officers with the Lufkin Police that Javion left their home at 9 p.m. yesterday just before the storms hit. Their home is located on Lazy Oaks Street in the Englewood subdivision near Denman Avenue.

She said that initially she was not concerned because he sometimes leaves but usually returns within 45 minutes. When he did not return, she reported him missing. Of course, given the severity of the storms on Monday night, that is yet another reason for concern in this case.

Javion’s mother believes he left on foot, but she is unsure of his direction of travel. The young man has family that lives in Wells and in Nacogdoches, however, Javion was not at either of those locations as of Tuesday morning (3/15).

Javion Jones is described as a black male, 5’11, 170 pounds with a short fade haircut. He is clean-shaven. Javion was last seen wearing a black hoodie with yellow, gray, and red writing on the front, skinny blue jeans, a blue beanie, and tan Skecher shoes that look like HeyDudes.

Please keep a look out for Javion as you travel around the city and surrounding area. If you happen to see him or know of his location, please call the Lufkin Police Department at 936-633-0356.

Otherwise, please keep Javion and his family in your prayers for a safe return.
