Lufkin Whataburger and Carter Blood Care Double Teaming July Blood Drive

During the month of July, some East Texas Whataburger locations will participate in the Second Annual Lifesavers Challenge.

The friendly competition means the Whataburger location that has the highest number of donors will win bragging rights and the traveling trophy. It also means that every donor that gives during the Second Annual Lifesavers Challenge will receive a coupon for a free Whataburger sandwich.

Summer is the most challenging season to maintain the community blood supply. Donors are fewer in number and the need for blood by local hospitals is higher than usual. Every 90 seconds a local patient within the Carter Blood Care service area requires a blood transfusion.  Whole blood donors may give every 56 days.

How about making some time to donate at the Whataburger blood drive on Tuesday, July 9?  421 North Timberland Drive in Lufkin, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
