Lufkin’s Woodland Heights Hosting Spooky Event With Bike Giveaway
Woodland Heights Medical Center will host Spooky Safety Saturday (a FREE safety fair event) on Saturday, October 22 from 10am to 2pm at the Woodland Heights parking lot (loop side of the hospital).
“The start of school and the beginning of the hectic holiday season is a good time to remind the community of ways to stay safe,” said Stephen Bennett, Woodland Heights ER Director. “What better way to engage the community than to get out and teach safety with hands-on demonstrations and activities. We hope that families will take advantage of this free event and come to the hospital to see what all we have to offer. We have great partners with this event and so many donating bicycles.”
Spooky Safety Saturday is a free family event. Participants will meet first responders, and learn about school safety, animal safety, car seat safety and so much more. There will be games and giveaways including the opportunity to win a bike and helmet.
The KICKS 105 Road Show will be there from 11 am-1 pm serving up free hot dogs with Grill 105 while supplies last.
“We are so excited to again host this safety event for our community since having to take a break due to Covid the past two years,” states Bennett. “Our team at Woodland Heights has a passion for caring for people and seeing families learn and prepare for emergencies is the first step to a safer and healthier community.”
Many community partners will be at the event, including the Texas Department of Transportation, Lufkin Fire Department, Lufkin Police Department, Texas A&M Forest Service, Lufkin ISD, Texas Dept. of Emergency Management, Lufkin Coca-Cola and many others.
