Drummer Gil Sharone has announced his departure from Marilyn Manson’s band. Sharone offered a statement to fans, calling his time with Manson “one of the highlights of my career.”

Gil Sharone joined Marilyn Manson in 2013, performing on 2015’s The Pale Emperor and 2017’s Heaven Upside Down. Before teaming with the Antichrist Superstar, Sharone played on the Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ire Works and Puscifer’s V Is for Vagina, also filling in for Travis Barker in +44 when the drummer broke his arm.

Sharone writes:

After five amazing years playing drums for @marilynmanson, I’ve decided to leave the band. It’s been one of the highlights of my career but it’s time for me to pursue other current and future projects. Much love to @marilynmanson and the homies I shared the stage with; @jeordie @tylerbatesofficial @paulwileymm @j_alderete and to the fans. It’s been a blast.
