According to numerous fan reports and the video posted above, Meat Loaf collapsed onstage during a performance at the Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Canada last night.

The Edmonton Journal stated that fans were asked to clear the venue after the incident, which saw the singer fall to the floor in the middle of performing "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)." Witnesses on social media reported seeing ambulances and fire trucks outside the venue.

According to Consequence of Sound, a representative for Meat Loaf has declared that the singer is currently "stable and in good condition." And according to his Facebook page, Meat Loaf was forced to cancel Monday night's (June 13) at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary show due to illness. We will have more on this breaking story as details become available.

UPDATE: Meat Loaf's Facebook page issued an update on the singer's condition, noting that he collapsed Thursday night due to severe dehydration near the end of his concert.

Meat Loaf rocketed to fame like, well, a Bat Out of Hell with the multi-platinum success of his 1977 album of the same name. He has since released two more successful sequels to that landmark record, and is expected to release his 13th studio effort, the long-gestating Braver Than We Are, on September 16. The new album will once again reunite Meat Loaf with Bat Out of Hell songwriter Jim Steinman, and last year the singer suggested it would serve as a career-capping statement: “I can’t think of a better way to round out my music career than having another opportunity to work once again with songwriters I so admire.”
