Metallica represent! That's one thing we've seen repeated from the Bay Area band is that they're there for their hometown sports teams. Tonight (June 5), that meant that Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield got to rock the National Anthem ahead of Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and the home team Golden State Warriors.

The two musicians took the court donning "Strength in Numbers" black t-shirts, playing into the hometown Warriors motto for the season. Hammett did most of the heavy lifting, with Hetfield on hand to add depth to the heaviness of the instrumental rendition.

Fans in the Bay Area have become well acquainted with the two Metallica members' rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner," as the band has a long-standing tradition of playing it during "Metallica Night" with the San Francisco Giants basketball team. Metallica have also enjoyed a theme night with the nearby San Jose Sharks hockey team, and they also played a big Super Bowl week concert a few years back when the Super Bowl was held in the Bay Area. They also have done the honors for the Warriors in the past as well. You can watch their version from Game 3's festivities below.

Up next for Metallica is playing a concert at Slane Castle in Ireland. The venue is known for typically staging one concert a year and it usually being a major artist. The show will take place on June 8 in Meath, Ireland, with the band then continuing their European tour leg. See all their dates here.
