You can enjoy a movie under the stars in Nacogdoches. This free event is being put together by the Nacogdoches Public Library. It's all doing down at Festival Park in Nacogdoches on Friday June 18th 2021 at 7pm.

Come early and stake out your spot. There will be local food trucks on site to enhance the movie experience. Even though the event is free, you can still register, just to let them know you are coming, on Eventbrite.

The movie that will be showing on the big screen is Hoodwinked. This is a little known digitally animated retelling of the story book classic, Little Red Riding Hood. I can't believe I missed this movie, but I can't say that I have ever seen it.

The voice over cast is impressive. Anne Hathaway is Little Red Riding Hood and Glen Close does the voice for Grandma. Other noted actors include Jim Belushi, Anthony Anderson and Andy Dick.

Xzibit even makes an appearance. This would have been around the heyday of MTV's 'Pimp My Ride' from 2004-2007.  I guess it isn't that strange that he would be in the movie in some capacity. They even did a version of PMR in the UK with Lil' Jon and Fat Joe. I am amazed at how many international spins offs it had.

I think there is a lot going for this movie. It's a new classic, and not widely remembered. Makes for a perfect night of watching movies outdoors. The only thing that is missing is you.
