ICYMI: Susu’s Is Expanding (And Adding New Snack Options!)

Remember that post last week that took you through Susu's Popcorn and Candy Cafe in Nacogdoches? The one with all the pictures of the popcorn shop on the brick streets of Nacogdoches?

Well, not long after that - one day later, to be exact - they put up a post on their Facebook page announcing that they're expanding! When I saw the post on Facebook, I had to go get a look for myself, and this is what I saw:

Taking Over the Store Next Door

That sign above is located at the store next door to where Susu's is currently located. Apparently, the plan is to knock out the adjoining wall and expand the current store into the new space. With that, they will be expanding their menu options to include ice cream and fudge - as you can see.

This means that not only were they a unique shop before, being the only popcorn/candy shop in the area, but with this expansion, they'll be the only fudge shop in the area, too. There are a couple of ice cream shop options, but none that are this size that also offer candy options.

Asking For Community Input

One of the coolest things that the Susu's crew did with this announcement, in my opinion, was ask for community input. They put up a sign on the new storefront asking for ideas, hopes or suggestions. Check it out:

The community was free to come put what they would like to see for 2026 at Susu's! As you can see, there were a lot of banana split fans, as well as some fans of movie nights. Me personally, I thought the suggestion for a jukebox was pretty great.

The Deep East Texas community is definitely keeping an eye on this shop!
